The Breakaways Surf Band mission:  Our mission is to play surf rock, surf  instrumentals, surf vocals and surf music in Orange County in a traditional and soulful way. Traditional by using Vintage Fender Guitars, Vintage Fender Amplifiers and Reverb Tanks (a classic surf band).  Collectively we have over 100 years experience as musicians!  The Breakaways surf band is a traditional surf band or a classic surf band.  What is a traditional Surf Band?  Listen to the surf music samples here at thebreakaways.com and you can find out. Think surf instrumentals like the Ventures, Dick Dale and Endless Summer.  (We also do Surf Vocals).   We are the premier band for surf music in Orange County.  As a Traditional Surf Band, we use only vintage Fender Guitars and Basses, Vintage Fender Amplifiers and Reverb Tanks to achieve that classic surf band tone and sound.  We specialize playing surf music of the Ventures, Dick Dale and surf movies like the Endless Summer. We are also a charity band and spend a good amount of our time playing at hospitals and shelters for the kids there.  It's fun exposing them to this type of music.  Many have never heard of surf music, Dick Dale, the Ventures or the Endless Summer before!  When we finish, they are converted....We think it's the Reverb Tanks, Vintage Fender Guitars and Vintage Fender Amplifiers that make the difference in our surf instrumentals and surf vocals sound.
